Preparing your manuscript

 Criteria

All article reviews are double-blind, so please do not include identifying information in the main body of your manuscript. Note any sections of your manuscript that contain identifying information so it can be removed before being sent for peer review. Articles written with a Large Language Model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, do not meet authorship criteria and will not be considered for publication. By submitting to the BMRA, you affirm that the article is an original work that has not been previously published. The editor of the BMRA reserves the right to verify your article for originality with plagiarism and AI detection software.

 General submission guidelines:

  • All manuscripts must be written in English.
  • Submit as a Microsoft Word (.DOC or .DOCX) file.
  • Use Times New Roman 12pt. font for all content including headings and references.
  • Include page numbers in the top right corner of each page.
  • Use single spacing and 0.5” paragraph indents.
  • Embed special characters so they are retained during the publishing process.
  • Tables and figures should be typed in Microsoft Word and incorporated into the body of the text within the margins. Adhere to APA 7th edition guidelines.
  • All references should be formatted according to APA 7th edition guidelines.
  • Manuscripts should be free from grammatical and spelling errors and reflect high scholarly quality.
  • Manuscript length should not exceed 15 single-spaced pages.

Adhere to the following guidelines as you assemble your manuscript:

Title page

The title should include the research methodology and design, if appropriate. All contributing authors’ names should be included on the title page, along with contact information for the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract should briefly summarize the purpose of the article and the findings of the study. Do not cite references and limit the length of the abstract to between 150 and 250 words. Include three to six keywords that represent the main content of the article.

Introduction/Background

Introduce the article. Provide the background of the study and discuss the problem that was identified and the purpose of conducting the research. The introduction should be approximately two single-spaced pages.

Literature Review

Provide a summary of existing literature and describe how the gap in research was identified. The literature review should be approximately three single-spaced pages.

Methods

Include the purpose, design, and setting of the study; the population and sample; the type of statistical analysis used, including power calculations if appropriate (the G*Power image does not need to be included); and ethical considerations if research was conducted on human subjects. The methods section should be approximately four single-spaced pages.

Results and Discussion

Include the findings of the study, including the results of statistical or thematic analysis. The findings may be reported in tables and figures, as appropriate, with a supporting narrative. Discuss the practical and theoretical implications of the findings and highlight the limitations of the study. Address any issues that are not covered in other sections of the article. The results and discussion section should be approximately four single-spaced pages.

Recommendations and Conclusions

Clearly address the main conclusions. Include an explanation of the importance and relevance of the study to the field. The conclusions section should be approximately two single-spaced pages.

References

Include a properly formatted APA 7th edition list of all references cited in the article.
